INDONESIA ELECTION NEWS (Asia): Former Indonesian President did not vote
Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid, the former president of Indonesia admitted not casted vote for legislative candidates during Thursday's general elections. Gus Dur cited many frauds in the election processes.
Indonesian votes from Singapore
Approximately 10,000 Indonesian living in Singapore have chosen to receive ballots by mail and cast their vote at their own places in Singapore and not coming out to polling stations provided by the Indonesian Embassy on the Legislative Election today.
Australian invited to vote
An Australian national has been invited to vote in Thursday's legislative elections. This was as a result of a report lodged from his Indonesian wife Busairi. Local immigration office found that Jember elections commission had registered Robert Jacques Wairi in the permanent voter list.
Competition for best polling stations
The Gianyar regency polls body will be selecting the best polling stations in the regency in the Thursday’s general election. AA Ngurah Putra, head of the polls commission said on Wednesday, "It is part of our effort to enable voters to cast their ballots in a comfortable setting."
Ballot drop boxes in Malaysia
In Kaula Lumpur the Indonesian Embassy is relying on approximately 150 drop boxes across Malaysia. There are about 800,000 migrant workers in Kaula Lumpur.
