PAKISTAN CRISIS NEWS: Nawaz Sharif said today that his opposition PML-N party and the ruling Pakistan
People's Party (PPP) will be evolving a joint strategy for political reconciliation in the wake of the decision of the government to reinstate judges deposed during the emergency of 2007.
Nawaz Sharif conveyed this when the Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gilani telephoned him as well as his brother, former Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, to discuss about the political situation in Pakistan after the government's move to reinstate former Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and other deposed judges.
Yousuf Raza Gilani told "political reconciliation among the democratic forces of the country would bring a positive change in the whole system." He also added that it will help the country confront the challenges before it.
Giving in to pressure from the lawyers' movement along with the PML-N that organised a long march to press for the restoration of all the deposed judges. PPP-led government today said that the judges would be reinstated to their former positions.
