Public hangings continue: One man hanged in central province of Iran

Iran Human Rights, April 30: One man was hanged in public in the Markazi (central) province of Iran early this morning.

According to the official website of the judiciart in the Markazi province of Iran, a man who was not dientified by name, was hanged in public in Mousa Abad, near Ashtian in the Markazi province, this morning. The man was convicted of Moharebeh (enmity against God) for [being] involved in armed robbery, according to the report.

The charges have not been confirmed by independent sources.

There have been a significant increase in the public hangings in the recent weeks in Iran. Last week four people, among them at least two juvenile offenders, were hanged on a beach area in the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas.
