Tehran - In its official statement, Iran vehemently denied the reports that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was attacked by grenade on Wednesday.
Iranian state-run satellite broadcaster, Press TV quoted an anonymous "informed source" in presidential office, denying the reports of grenade attack was fake.
“Some foreign news sources published reports that a grenade exploded near the motorcade of President Ahmadinejad during his visit to the western city of Hamedan on Wednesday,” Press TV said. “The source denied the allegation, saying no such attack had happened.”
It has been reported that confusion and rumors spread across the country after a continuous reports were published and broadcast through different media about the attack on president.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that an unidentified source from president office said Iranian president's motorcade had come under a grenade attack on Wednesday. It was reported that when President was going for speech in a sports arena, while traveling from an airport to Hamedan, grenade attack had exploded.
