First, a big THANK YOU to all who are working so hard to make Easter the unforgettable celebration it will be.Terry Flanagan, Interim Music Director, is coordinating all the music, and preparing choir, brass, timpani, violin, solo, and dance. (A personal thanks for his planting ornamental grasses donated by Abi & Brian Gray at the manse yesterday.)
Renee Vasallo, Love Wooten, and Roe Gift (who appear to me to be the flair behind the flowers), plus committee members Anne Brady, Linda Lewis, Janice Lohr, Cheryl Milde, and Paula Sigmon spent hours this morning, and the results of their work (arranging what God and the gardener/florists had provided) will be eye-popping.
The choir and other musicians were rehearsing, and will gather once more tomorrow morning so that we can be blessed with voices and brass and timpani. (Thanks to Fox Lane School for the loan of the timpani.) Marcello Carelli was rehearsing on the drums while his father Gerard looked on parentally.
The bulletins are printed, thanks to Herb Reinke for his graphic gifts, and his daughter Lisa Rockefeller for printing them at cost. They present the Easter message in beautiful graphic form. We've also got "Children's Bulletins" to help reinforce the learning that our young people can gain from a full worship service. The Easter coffee hour goodies are being prepared by Kelly and Rob Marlow, who are hosting. (Rob was here oday climbing on the roof and trying to find out where the drips were coming from inside the "Kisco door" entrance.
Allison Brancati will sing the Mozart "Alleluia" accompanied by Terry on organ, Nelva TeBrake on violin, and Jenna Kelly doing liturgical dance! Linda Carelli is her choreographer. The Banner Committee has completed the two Easter banners, and they'll be displayed for the first time tomorrow. Thanks to Carol Perkins (chair), Ruth & Charles Barton, Susan Cremin, Joan Durfee, Marie Kish and Mary Mace for all the work that went into them, and to Tim Moroch and Herb Reinke for installing the banner brackets.
I'm sure I've left out some names, but that's an unavoidable risk. Please let me know whom I've missed, and I'll add them.
--Jack Lohr, Interim Pastor
