Is the World Too Big to Fail? The Contours of Global Order

Noam Chomsky is revered by all. But no one has spotted the very big mistake he has made in this statement. "Arabs regard Iran as a threat: 10%. Opposition to U.S. policy is so strong that a majority believes that security would be improved if Iran had nuclear weapons". The word "Iran" is used to describe the activities of the Ayatollahs and Hiizbollah in Iran. Ask any Iranian whether they are Iranian or followers of the Ayatollahs or Hizbollah, and you will get a stern response. Imagine Mr Chomsky's sentence included the phrase "Ayatollah regime" instead. The implications would be vast. It would give freedom to the Iranians, knowing that their name has not been abused. This very basic, yet fundamental error, is at the root of the problem. Once everyone respects the name of Iran, and also the name of the Ayatollahs and Hizbollah, by not mixing them up, then each will have the respect they deserve. So please get that right, and everything else will fall into place.
