Notes from this Week

Congratulations to Burn & Linda Lewis' son Andrew, who graduated last Friday in Quantico, VA, from Marine Officer Candidates School, OCC-206, Company C, and accepted his commission as a Second Lieutenant in his pursuit of becoming a JAG (Judge Advocate General).

Monday evening we had the first meeting of Worship and the Arts Committee with Andy Bacon as chair. We reviewed/revised and approved the committee charter, planned to subsume the flower committee under our wings, talked of many possible agenda items for future meetings. As any of us who attended: Jack Lohr, Terry Flannagan, Denise Schutz, Ruth Barton, Roe Gift and Andy Bacon.

Sue Godshall, Mary Manarino and I attended Presbytery Tuesday at First Pres., Goshen. Best part of the meeting? Worship (Taizé-style). What could have been improved about the meeting? Shorter worship.

I finally got to my first meeting of the Northern Westchester Interfaith Council. We had lunch and visited the new Ambulatory Care Center of Northern Westchester Hospital (NWH), at Chappaqua Crossing. Heard a great talk by Murray Low, Ed. D., who directs the Cardiac Rehab program. (Ask me about it!)

We had 18 at last night's Lenten Covered-Dish Supper and Study on "The Golden Rule" (despite the weather). Seven of them came from the Islamic School. We continue having very interesting discussions and some delicious food for the body as well as soul.
