Choral Concert this Sunday

This Sunday, March 6, 6:30 p.m., Muskingum University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will offer a concert at the Presbyterian Church of Mount Kisco, 605 Millwood Rd., Mount Kisco, New York.

Muskingum University is in its 174th year as a church-related institution rooted in the traditional liberal arts. From a campus in 1837 of one acre, one building, and 17 students, the University has grown to a campus of 215 acres, 22 major buildings, and 1600 students.

Set in the scenic rolling hills of southeastern Ohio, Muskingum is committed to a program of education within a Christian environment. Its mission is to develop -- intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically -- whole persons, by fostering critical thinking, positive action, ethical sensitivity, and spiritual growth, so that they may lead vocationally productive, personally satisfying, and socially responsible lives.

The Muskingum University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, comprised of 60 percent non-music majors, tour annually during the spring semester. Their programs, an artful blend of sacred and secular music from the Renaissance to the present, have met with enthusiastic and warm responses from a variety of audiences, both at home and across Europe. Whether touring or performing musicals, operettas, and concerts on campus, these groups well represent the Muskingum University Department of Music, an active participant in the fields of music education and music performance.

The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be received.

--Jack Lohr, Interim Pastor
