Prayers with the Barber Family

Roberta Barber has finished her race and breathed her spirit back to God. PCMK's prayer group is holding her family, especially Bob and Carol, in our prayers. We ask strength for them as they go through these next days. May they feel the love and comfort of God, and know that they're not alone. They will surely be surrounded by a strong and loving extended family, and many friends, and encouraged by a host of memories and stories of their mother's well-lived life.

Paul's message to Timothy (2 Tim. 4:6-8 The Message) can comfort and inspire us all:
You take over. I'm about to die, my life an offering on God's altar. This is the only race worth running. I've run hard right to the finish, believed all the way. All that's left now is the shouting—God's applause! Depend on it, he's an honest judge. He'll do right not only by me, but by everyone eager for his coming.

OBITUARY -- THE JOURNAL NEWS

Roberta G. Barber, a lifelong resident of Brewster, NY, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at the age of 94 years.

Roberta is the wife of the late Lloyd H. Barber. She is predeceased by her sisters, Gladys Farrell, Hazel Millar, and Mildred Collins and her twin brother Robert Buck. She is survived by her son, Robert G. (Carol) Barber, her granddaughters, Cyndie (Frank) Thomas and Melinda Barber, great-grandchildren, Tim (Alison) Thomas, Kimberly (Dan) Edwards, Richie and Robert Peifer, great-great-grandchildren, Kayla and Daniel Edwards.  She is also survived by her nephew Gary (Diane) Millar.

Funeral services Monday, 11:00 AM, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Carmel, NY. Interment Milltown Rural Cemetery.  Friends may call at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
