2 hanged in public in western Iran

2 men were hanged in the town of Lorestan, in the west Iranian province of Khoramabad.

The semi-official Iranian daily Kayhan reported that two men identified as "Noorbakhsh A." and "Ali Heydar Z." and were convicted of drug trafficking. The men were hanged in the yard of the "Lorestan profession training complex" in Khoramabad, according to the report.

9 people convicted of drug-related offences have been hanged in the province of Lorestan in the past weeks. 5 people were hanged on January 13th in Khoramabad and 3 men were hanged in the town of Boroujerd on January 7th in the province of Lorestan.
