STEWARDSHIP 2011

“…the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”    --Galatians 6:8-9

Whether the image is one of farming or gardening, our stewardship theme for 2011 has great resonance as we think about our congregation’s journey of faith. Just as a growing plant relies on interlocking factors such as soil conditions, air, sunlight and water, likewise, our spiritual growth and the growth of our congregation relies on an interdependent mix of people, programs, nurture and support. Stewardship can help plant the seeds for the spiritual growth of our fellow PCMK members, the growth of our mission and the growth of our outreach to the larger community.

As we begin to move forward in a time of transition, we are at a time when the seeds we plant today will bloom into a nurturing and fruitful future for our Church. As we think about what this garden may require and look like, we must also discern how we will fund this growth journey together. In the coming weeks, some of your PCMK family members will be sharing how their experience in this congregation and community has shaped their spiritual journey and growth. They will also share how stewardship is an important part of their journey.
