PCMK is "More Light" Church

Week after week, we celebrate in our bulletin that "PCMK is a More Light Church and a member of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians, welcoming people of all sexual orientations." We're proud of the work that Karen Kavey does spreading the healing, even life-saving, resource we call "the Blue Book."  A complete Spanish translation of The Blue Book ("El Libro Azul") is also available in its entirety as an Internet resource.

In the current issue of the More Light Update, there's an excellent resource on the topic of "Top Ten Ways in 2010 to Make a Difference in Your Church & Presbytery." The suggestions are helpful to anyone who seeks to make a difference, regardless of the issue.

Just consider:

Open your heart. Transform the Church. Change the world.

1. Embrace all persons as children of God, created in the image of God and of sacred worth, including yourself.
2. Nurture a theology, ethic and practice of hospitality within your life, family of origin, family of choice, your church family, presbytery and community.
3. Pray for all hearts and minds to be open to the Spirit of God at work in your church and presbytery, beginning with your own.

10. Celebrate your life and faith journey as a gift from God, and be the change you seek to make in your church, presbytery, our nation and world.

If we all move toward this Light, we'll truly be transformed!
