Paris Hilton Denied Japan Entry Over Drug Case
By BOB Goswami
JAPAN NEWS - 29-year-old socialite Paris Hilton had to left Japan after being denied in staying in the country. She is convicted for cocaine possession in a Las Vegas court this week.
The famous socialite was stopped by Japanese airport authority at Tokyo's Narita International Airport on Tuesday night. Ms. Hilton was reported in arguing with Japanese immigration officials but denied by the authorities.
The 29-year-old had spent hours talking with Japanese immigration officials late Tuesday and again Wednesday morning before she dropped her request for entry, the Kyodo News agency and other media reported.
She and her sister Nicky were on a promotional campaign for a perfume and had been due to participate in a fashion show.
"I'm going back home and I look forward to coming back to Japan in the future. I'm really tired." She said.
She was reported to spend her night at a hotel in Tokyo and questioned for hours by immigration officials.
Japan has stringent immigration laws that bar to people who are pleaded guilty of possessing illegal drugs.
The socialite was arrested by the Las Vegas police when a trace of cocaine was found in her purse while driving. Later on she was fined $2,000 (£1,286) and a community service as well.
