The Northeast Westchester Crop Walk 2010 will be held Sunday, October 31, at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Registration is at 1:30 p.m., the walk begins at 2:00 p.m. It's a pretty easy walk, roughly two miles. As in past years, 25% of the funds raised go locally to the Community Center of Northern Westchester and the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry, a PCMK mission. The rest is used to alleviate global hunger.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Each walker gets a donation envelope and seeks sponsors. (see coordinators Kate Lombardi or Dave Dobson)
- Walkers can also solicit donations online, by registering at www.cropwalkonline.org.
- The goal is for each walker to raise $150, though of course any amount is welcome.
- The money should be collected before the walk, and it is turned into the walk treasurer (Peter Kennedy, of the Pound Ridge Community Church) on the day of the walk.
