Baghdad:

Diyala Prv:
#1: Four civilians were wounded in a roadside bomb explosion in north of Baaquba, a police source said. “The bomb exploded in Abu Bakr village in al-Aazeem district, north of Baaquba, injuring four civilians, including a child,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Shirqat:
#1: Police found a body of man with gunshot wounds in the head and chest near the river in Shirqat, 300 km (190 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
Mosul:
#1: A civilian man was killed and a policeman wounded in an attack by gunmen in western Mosul city on Saturday, a local security source in Ninewa said. “Gunmen opened fire on a policeman and his civilian friend in Dawrat al-Hamameel area, western Mosul, killing the civilian and wounding the policeman,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. “The policeman was on a leave of absence when gunmen in a vehicle opened drive-by fire on him and his friend before they managed to escape to an unknown place,” the source added.
#2: An Iraqi soldier was wounded in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in western Mosul city on Saturday, a local police source in Ninewa said. “An IED attached to a lamp post went off in the area of al-Faisaliya, eastern Mosul, leaving an Iraqi soldier injured,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. “The soldier was being deployed near a checkpoint in the area when the explosive charge went off,” the source added.
Afghanistan: "The Forgotten War"
#1: Insurgents separately killed three Afghan women in the eastern province of Paktika, the Interior Ministry said. "Three women were martyred and another three men were wounded when terrorists opened fire on a civilian station wagon in the morning today," it said in a statement.
#2: Also Saturday, Taliban fighters ambushed a patrol led by Jamtullah Khan, the police chief of Shaigal district in Kunar province on the border with Pakistan, and abducted the officer and two other policemen, police said.
#3: Twelve militants were, meanwhile, killed in Helmand, officials said. Four were blown up by a roadside bomb that they were installing.
#4: In Afghanistan, at least 13 Taliban militants including their commander were killed as they came under air attack in northern province of Kunduz last night. A security official said that the air raids took place in Dasht-e-Archi district after intelligence reports indicated militants' activities. A NATO statement said the militants, who had barricaded themselves in the buildings, exchanged fire with joint forces resulting in the killings
