SINGAPORE : Singapore will be hosting the first Asian edition of the World Islamic Banking Conference (Asia WIBC) in June next year.
This was disclosed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore's managing director, Heng Swee Kiat, at the 16th WIBC in Bahrain.
The Asian edition is aimed at promoting deeper relations between the Middle East and Asia.
It is expected to provide a platform for more established industry players to share their experiences in Islamic finance.
The WIBC is seen as the world's largest and most significant gathering of Islamic banking and finance leaders.
